Steven Tyler’s said it best; Give yourself permission to screw up totally! We haven’t lived until we have lived. We need to be living our lives as rock stars because we are in our realities. Steven is no different than us, he falls and gets back up; he just has to endure public opinion.
Trying to get it right or thinking something has to be Perfect before you can live, is residing in a hampster in a cage. Round and round you go chasing after something that will never exist because you and everything in your life are the perfect opportunities, the screw-ups and all.
Living an authentic self is the perfection, stepping in traps, taking left and right turns, loving yourself are all learning tools that teach us how to navigate and know ourselves more.
The biggest screw up you can make would be not to screw up. Don’t let thoughts roll around in your head that you are not good enough, or you did something wrong because of who you are or where you came from, or even where you are at this moment; that is a mistake you cannot afford to make. Welcome, your self-doubt-talk as an opportunity to discover something new about yourself.
If you get in the game of life you will be up against a lot of team players; your role is to show up, be true to yourself, which in turn helps everyone else, without living for someone else.
It is a birthright to discover yourself enough to navigate life with such a fierceness and to live your dreams even if the circumstances suck sometimes, and they do and they will.
The juicy parts of living are the unknown twist, turns, and screw ups that happen each day. If we are blessed another day to get in the game of life, that is the best screw up of all.
YOU are worth it! Dolby Dubrow
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. — George Bernard Shaw
