It’s possible to witness the panic and still RISE,
to have compassion for the pain and always SHINE,
to grieve the losses and still THRIVE.
The flawed systems (inner belief systems as well as outer life structures) are coming undone.
It can be a terrifying, or it can be a picturesque experience.
As the tapestry of society; which includes your personal life, family, friends, etc., helps to unravel YOU, knowingly and not knowing—YOU a powerful creator, get to help weave a new life, a new unclaimed way of living, for yourself which helps heal others too!⠀
This weaving of the new possibility begins with inner peace and clarity of ‘noticing’ where you are at, where you are triggered and what you would like to embrace for change.
If you are overwhelmed by guilt, shame, panic, fear, and stress, it’s tough to think straight, much less listen to your inner guidance and see a new brighter path forward.
If all your attention is on what’s flawed; body image, things are not going right, or life is just scary, it’s going to be very hard to notice what’s GOOD or what possibilities are available for you in this unique moment.
Change your mind how you see yourself and the world and let the magic happen within.
Allow the contrasts, don’t resist those moments, for they are beckoning recognition for their role.
We can only meet ourselves and the world in the mindset we believe ourselves to be in.
Beliefs are not who you are on a much deeper level of evolution.
If you want to be, do, have anything…TEACH IT.
You are the teacher—and you are the student.
You are the world you live in.
You are the dreamer.
You are the stories you believe in.
You want a different outcome, script, etc…
Change the mind that put those stories and beliefs there in the first place.
I’ll leave this with a smidgen of a poem from the Gnostic Gospels that celebrates this paradox of life:
The Thunder, Perfect Mind
I am knowledge and ignorance.
I am shame and boldness.
I am shameless; I am ashamed.
I am strength, and I am fear. I am joy, I am sad.
Love flows through, and we recognize our Divine Selves.
Only by embracing the contradictions, Chittister contends, may we live well amid stress, withstand emotional storms, and satisfy our yearnings for something transcendent and real. By delving into the chaos, this book guides us through the questions that seemed easier to avoid and enlightens what has been out of focus.Joan Chittister
