This chakra is located just below our navel in our lower abdominal and genital region. The color of this chakra is an intense, saturated orange which represents warmth and our connection to our emotional beings.

“I Feel” or “I Want.” We are seeking pleasure, and it can bring the opposites to our lives as well. But, that is how we grow.

While our first Chakra is satisfied with survival; our roots and tribal ties, the 2nd chakra seeks pleasure and enjoyment, but also finds our opposite; the painful ones as well. Opposites attract!

The journey to the second Chakra is the beginning of our inherent duality; we are branching out and upward into the outside world.
Other souls besides our family enter into the equation and create a separateness, hunger, and curiosity. We get thirsty, and “water seeks its own level.”

We see things, people and places through the eyes of others which is the opposite of what we might have been taught in our families.

We hunger to have, know and be more. Why not? The pleasures of our lives are also painful moments that heals us. We get knocked around.

We are moving forward into a world of freedom, passion, and growth. Other souls will show up and present opportunities to show us ourselves which can create pleasure and pain and uncertainty. The energy is mixing up a sweet cocktail to take ourselves to the next level of attainment.

When this chakra is out of balance, problems with sex drive and performance may occur, such as impotence, frigidity and bladder infections. The element for this chakra is water, and the sound of chant is ‘Vam.’ To keep the energy of the second chakra flowing is dancing, walking, meditation, and yoga.
