Emotional Fluency…
We are always talking about happiness, and seeking that as a fulltime job and not allowing ourselves to be with our “not so popular emotions”, but the truth is those emotions are a big part of who we are too, and those emotions help us love ourselves, have confidence, self-esteem as well.
Our emotional feelings are always trying to tell us something about ourselves. We just have to invite them in and allow them their moment.
When we are pushing against the shame, blame, sadness, guilt, etc…
We don’t feel so good about ourselves. We might think there is something wrong with us for having those feelings. After all, we are supposed to be happy, confident, positive, kind, etc.
Your day is entirely up to you. You get to choose how you want to feel, behave and ‘Do the day’! And if you are not feeling ‘it’; happy, confident, grateful, or satisfied, etc…
So what… do that, it is ok not to be happy ass each and every moment of your life. That is why we have emotions…USE THEM…
As long as you don’t intentionally harm anyone else and you are just having ‘THAT’ day, give yourself permission to have ‘that’day!
Remember there are gifts in our emotions that need to be unwrapped so that we can know ourselves more, know when we are at our meeting our edge. For every bright side of life, there is that shadow side that needs and wants to be acknowledged.
If we don’t listen to and honor all our emotions they can get out of control. All feelings are valid even the not so pleasant ones. Everyone and everything living have a place on this humanistic journey. Never ignore yourself.
Each day I am at peace with what I feel. I allow the ebb and flow of my emotional self as it serves my highest good.
“The heart is a strange beast and not ruled by logic.”
― Maria V. Snyder, Touch of Power
Couldn’t agree more. We make our day what it is and knowing and being comfortable with our own emotions is so key! Good read!
