Neither false happiness or a selfish attachment to sadness or negativity is healthy for long periods. It just clutters up the bodies chemistry and wrecks havoc on the self.
The healthiest emotional state is one of equanimity. If you want to be happy, great be happy, go with that. If you’re going to be sad, then, by all means, be sad. Just keep it all in perspective, all things become the past fast.
However…Do not push them aside, or feel shame or guilt for having them. Those emotions are telling you it is time to go within and explore what you are feeding.
Most importantly is to know feelings come and go, and they are not real, they are made up in your mind, the mind which fuels your thoughts. Change your thoughts, and it will change your story and most likely change your life.
Understand the underlying nature of the thoughts. Don’t stay attached either, like the clouds in the sky…This too shall float on by! Forgive yourself, even though you have nothing to forgive. The power is in the ‘letting thoughts go.’
Self-Forgiveness Prayer
Today I am willing to see past illusions to the truth.
Today I step back and take my unhealed thoughts to the Light, that I might see them for the nothingness they are. The way to release ourselves from this false image is to offer all our perceptions to the Holy Spirit, Universe, Higher Vibration.
I am willing to let my projections be undone. I am willing to remember Where I am always, in present time.
Today I am willing to be at peace, instead of being right!
