Birthdays… There are many people who live in the theme; It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to.
Some people dread the shit out of their Birthdays, and others, well me, love to celebrate them.
My take on the ‘I HATE MY BIRTHDAY’ is a ‘CRY FOR LOVE.’
I knew a gal who vehemently hated her birthday… BUT… would be upset, pissed, and downright angry if people forgot or did not wish her a Happy Birthday. Talk about the polar opposite message. That again, a cry for love, or your damned if you do or damned if you don’t.
Birthdays can cause us to reflect on our lives, we look at where we are, we might even calculate how much time we have left, or just have multi-issues wrapped around the birthday celebration because of a past PTSD.
This reflectivity might cause some disappointment, and as a result, we want to push the Birthday day away, but do we really want to forget?
NO, because there is so much attention placed on rejecting that it’s a birthday. Energy goes where attention flows.
Birthdays are a BIG DEAL, whether we love them or hate them, there is always a lot of energy wrapped around their upcoming day.
I say, embrace your birthday, celebrate yourself, don’t have expectations; and if you want a party, and are waiting on someone else to do it… DON’T… You are setting yourself up to be let down, if someone throws you a bash, embrace that.
Put a party together for yourself and make it fun. Personally, I celebrate myself first and everyone who attends my yearly Birthday Bash. I create a theme for each of my parties, and everyone looks forward to my Birthday each year, it also happens to be at the end of summer, so it is another way to say goodbye to the summer and Hello to the fall.
It’s all about Change…
We can’t stop aging, and, it’s best not to live in the past regrets. If you do how can you think it doesn’t affect or infect your well-being? So, get in the game of life, and live in gratitude that you are alive, loved and get to breathe in another day!
